Privacy Policy for Rainboku
Effective Date: November 12, 2025
TL;DR – Privacy at Rainboku
We respect your privacy. Here’s the quick version of how we handle your data:
- What we collect (Locally): Your game progress, settings (like preferred palette), stats (wins, streaks), and game history are all stored locally on your device in SharedPreferences.
- What we collect (in the Cloud): If you choose to sign into Google Play Games, we collect your Player Name and send your scores and achievements to Google's leaderboards. If you buy "Pro Mode," Google handles the transaction and tells us your purchase status.
- What we don’t do: We do not collect your email. We do not have our own servers. We don’t sell or share your personal data with third-party marketers.
- Third parties: We use Google Play Services (for login, achievements, leaderboards) and Google Play Billing (for in-app purchases). These services are governed by Google's own privacy policy.
- Your rights: You can delete your local data by clearing the app's cache or uninstalling it. You can manage your Google Play Games data (and sign-out) through Google's own settings.
- Kids: This app is not intended for children under 13.

Introduction
Thank you for using Rainboku ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use our mobile and web application (the "Service").
Your privacy is important to us. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our Service.
1. Definitions

- Usage Data: Anonymous data collected by Google Play regarding app performance, such as crash reports.
- You: The individual accessing or using the Service.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
a) Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The core functionality of the Service relies on data stored locally on your device's SharedPreferences. We do not have access to this data.
- Game State: Your current puzzle board, solution, time played, and hints used. Use: To save and resume your game.
- Game History: Summaries of your past completed and in-progress games. Use: To provide the "History" feature.
- Player Statistics: Your win counts, streaks, and preferences. Use: To provide the "Stats" feature.
- Settings: Your preferences for theme, palette, and other in-game toggles. Use: To customize your app experience.
b) Information Collected Automatically (Cloud Data)
We use Google services to provide cloud-based features. This data is collected only if you choose to use these features.
- Google Play Games Data: If you sign in, we receive your Player Name from Google Play Services. We send your game scores (time) and earned achievements to Google's servers. Use: To provide you with leaderboards and achievement tracking.
- In-App Purchase Data: If you purchase the "Pro Mode," Google Play Billing handles the transaction. We only receive a confirmation (a "purchase token") from Google to verify your purchase and unlock the pro features. We do not see or store your credit card information. Use: To manage your "Pro" status.
- Anonymous Usage Data: The Google Play Console may automatically collect anonymized usage statistics and crash reports to help us identify and fix bugs.
3. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
- Performance of a Contract: To provide the Service features you request (saving games locally, granting Pro access after purchase).
- Legitimate Interests: To improve and secure the Service and analyze usage trends (via anonymous crash reports).
- Consent: You provide consent when you choose to sign into Google Play Games. You can revoke this consent at any time by signing out.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local Data: All your Local Data (game state, history, stats, settings) is stored on your device indefinitely until you clear the app's data or uninstall the application.
- Cloud Data: Data stored in Google Play Games (Player Name, achievements, leaderboard scores) is managed by Google and is subject to their data retention policies. You can manage this data via your Google account settings. Purchase history is retained by Google as required by law.
